Opening Concert– Lautenliebe
It is hard to imagine an early music ensemble without the lute. But when does one ever get the opportunity to listen to the interplay between all the different members of the lute family? The Casulana Lute Consort provides just such a sound experience: With refined arrangements of French airs de cour, lively dances for various combinations of lutes, and transcriptions of polyphonic vocal music from the turbulent period around 1600, the four musicians make the magic of their instruments come alive.
